ARTIST RESIDENCY
1-2 Year Artist Residencies

Mentorship | Career Development | Promotion
The Artist Residency is the cornerstone of Whimsadoodle’s mission and remains at the heart of everything we do. We offer 1–2 year residencies for up to eight emerging and contemporary artists in Colorado.
Residents receive studio space, affordable housing, mentorship, career development, and access to unique opportunities through our open studio format. By easing financial pressures, the program allows artists the freedom to experiment, take creative risks, and grow professionally.
Equally important, the residency cultivates a supportive, collaborative community, where artists work alongside their peers, building lasting networks, exchanging ideas, and forging meaningful connections with the local community.
2-4 Week Creative Residency
A Creative Escape
Whimsadoodle is a nonprofit operating foundation dedicated to fostering education and meaningful engagement between artists and the communities they serve. At the heart of our mission is the Artist-in-Residence Program, the cornerstone of all we do. Our 1–2-year and 2-4 week residency programs are designed for emerging and contemporary artists, providing them with the time, space, and resources to focus deeply on their creative practice.

Two and four week residencies are scheduled from March through November. Early application is encouraged to ensure choice of dates. All applications will be considered if space is available. Your residency will include a private bedroom or shared bedroom if applying with another artist, shared living room, kitchen,
dining, and access to our shared studio spaces.

VISITING ARTIST PROGRAM

Art Instructors
Visiting artists teaching workshops—whether during our artist retreats or at one of our studios—are welcomed with complimentary housing as part of their compensation. During their stay, they’ll also enjoy full access to our studio space, encouraging them to create, explore, and feel at home in our creative community.
